While it may have seemed like I fell off the edge of the earth, I didn’t. I was working on my latest non-fiction book for my favorite animal shelter, the Hornell Area Humane Society (a no-kill shelter). Each year they have a fundraiser called the Cause 4 Paws. I try to come up with a new book for them each year.
The Cause 4 Paws event is this Saturday – June 4 from 10am to 2pm at Shawmut Park.
My latest book is called The Good Woof – Easy Dog Treat Recipes You Can Make at Home. I was SO relieved when the UPS driver delivered the books today – with just 1 day to spare!
My daughter and I have been baking dog treats all day, and we’ll be making more tomorrow for the event. It is well worth the effort, however, for the dog lovers at this year’s event. An added bonus – it is supposed to be sunny and warm!
I’m still working on another mystery and hope to have either an agent or I will self-publish the book by the end of the year. It has been too long since I published a mystery/thriller.
Thank you to everyone who has stuck around long enough to find out that yes, I am still writing.

A few of the reviews:
I Dream of Zombies was an unexpected jewel of a book, the main character Rose amusing. The author wrote her in a matter of fact way that I really enjoyed. I’m a huge fan of Charlaine Harris and her books, and Charlotte Gerber has that same great writing style. This book was unique, with an entertaining storyline and fun characters that truly made this an enjoyable book to try out. – Carrie January
I absolutely loved this book- so much so that I had to email the author and let her know the minute I finished the book. It is a light but great read. You have to be pretty darn creative to be able to think of a Zombie Social Worker! If you are looking for a book with blood, guts, and gore- keep looking, this book is NOT for you. However, if you are looking for a cute book about zombies, one that has a little romance involved, then this is the book for you. -Book Loving Hippo
I Dream of Zombies really is a fun read. It’s comes at the zombies genre with a fresh, new perspective, with some genuinely funny parts and a very creative plot. I really liked this book! I would definitely read another one. – Rose Wynters

Catnap often. Don’t be a stalker unless food is involved. Despite the rumor, it is okay to be curious! A Cat Taught Me That is filled with humorous advice and the wisdom of elder cats that includes information on how to get more out of life, and how to avoid common pitfalls along the way. Cat lovers will enjoy the adorable photographs and cute illustrations throughout.
Celebrity cat ‘Awesome Louie’ provides insight with his gritty cat interviews, as well as sage advice with his “Mewsings” column. Short essays from the cat-lady author will bring smiles to the faces of readers who have learned that “Not All That Glitters is Gold” and “To Be Kissed By a Cat” can have unintended consequences.
Book Blast coming on October 1st. Details for the book tour and cat-themed giveaway coming soon!
Today is the first day of Camp NaNoWriMo, April edition. Usually the camp is held in July and November, but this year it is being held for an extra month – April! I’m excited to be part of this unusual writing event, and I’ve already written slightly more than 5,000 words towards my 50,000 word goal.
The book I’m focused on writing is Zombie Asylum, the sequel to I Dream of Zombies (Rose Lee’s Zombie Adventures Book 1). Rose Lee will be back, and this time she is working at the local zombie asylum. I can’t tell you everything in my book outline, but I can assure you that it will be full of comedy and zombie hijinx! Some of the cast from the first book will be returning, including Alex and Lenny. A few more characters will be introduced, and a few nasty individuals from the asylum will get what they deserve by the end of the story.
Once the book is finished, edited, and run through a beta read, it will be off and running on another book tour. This is my favorite part of the writing process – getting to ‘meet’ my fans and book bloggers. Once I have established the dates for the tour and book/swag giveaway, I’ll be sharing the details here.

Today is the second day of my book tour. After the initial interview crush, things are getting easier. Rose Wynters, author and reviewer, is today’s stop on my book tour. She posted the following review of my book, Murder in Middleton, on Amazon this morning:
The Perfect Paranormal Young Adult Read
Murder in Middleton is the story of Shannon, a fourteen year old that started seeing ghosts at twelve. In 9th grade, she’s at a point in life that is tough for many teenagers, especially one that is able to see dead people. Pretty soon she’s embroiled in an investigation, one that could prove deadly for this teen.
This book is a very interesting mystery that deals with both the paranormal and real world. It can be read by readers of all ages, there are no adult language or situations that would need to be screened! It was very interesting, how realistically the author combined the story of the paranormal with the average high school teenager’s life. I found it to be a very entertaining read, and I think you will too. The plot will keep you guessing as the author draws you in, making you wonder what’s really going on in Shannon’s world, who is behind it, and where will it lead?
It’s been awhile since I’ve read a true mystery, and that’s what this book is! If you love mystery, intrigue, and the paranormal, you will especially enjoy Murder in Middleton. ~Rose Wynters
Murder in Middleton is available on CreateSpace, Amazon, and Barnes&Noble.
My book tour is going to kick off soon! When this tour is over, a second one will be fast on its heels – my I Dream of Zombies book tour. I plan on taking a much needed vacation when springtime rolls around next year.
