I’m proud to say that I survived Camp NaNoWriMo and hit my 50,000 words. The funny thing is that I thought my novel would be a novella instead. I didn’t intend to keep writing, but the characters have a mind of their own. (No, I’m not nuts). While I’ve finished my book, I’m now in the editing phase and keep fleshing out characters and scenes. It is beginning to look more like a full-length novel now. Go figure.
The good news is that on August 5th I get to choose my goodies for hitting my word count goal. I’ve already received my merit badges and 19-ounce coffee mug for editors (the mug says, “Unleash Your Inner Editor!”)- just like the fun stuff you used to get at a real camp when you were a kid.
Once I receive all my goodies I’ll get them all together and share a photo. Until then, I have 12 more chapters to edit, and Mabel thinks I should be playing with her instead. She keeps trying to chew the end of my pen. Maybe I’ll write my next story about her!
